You are beginning to plan your wedding and the very first thing you have to decide is where do you want to get married. There are the obvious choices…..a church, your home, or a wedding venue. You want something different, something that reflects your interests and life together. You want a location that your wedding officiant can highlight in your ceremony--why did you pick this location, what is the significance of this site. Here are some ideas:

Your favorite campground. One of our most beautiful weddings was at the couple’s favorite horse friendly campground and included their horses. The bride rode in on her horse to greet her groom. It was a small intimate wedding of other horse lovers. Another fun geeky wedding was held at the family's favorite place to spend their summer vacation--their favorite mountain campground.
Consider your favorite museum. You love science, consider the local science museum. Many of them have large areas where you can set up chairs and have the ceremony in front of your most meaningful exhibit. Then the reception is held In the lobby or another large exhibit hall.

Your money is supporting your local museum as well as providing you with a beautiful unique wedding site. Art is your thing? Look at your local art museums.
Public gardens are great choices when you want an outdoor wedding in a beautiful garden setting. Your decorations are provided by the stunning views around you! Gardens can include

many different styles of settings—lake front, wooded, sculptures, etc.
Festivals allow you to include your love of local activities, celebrate the culture or season. We have done weddings at the Summer Solstice Festival, a statewide Pagan Pride Festival and a local Pride festival.

Your favorite restaurant can be a great location for ceremony and reception. If they have a patio you can have an outdoor ceremony followed by a meal of your favorite food. You will have a back-up location for weather related issues.
