What a Fun Dr. Who Wedding!

April and Chuck are big Dr. Who fans. As a matter of fact, they first met because of their common interest in Dr. Who. April’s love of the series began as a child, watching with her father. Chuck was introduced to it by friends. When she and Chuck decided to get married they knew it would have to be a Dr. Who themed wedding. Even though they knew it was going to be a very small intimate backyard wedding, they wanted it to completely represent them. Their theme for the day was “Together or Not at All!” Their love and commitment to one another was evident in all they did for their wedding day.

Her dress was special ordered for the color and style. Her bouquet was also specially designed by a family member and included a sonic screw driver! His ensemble was a bit easier to put together, even finding a red fez was not too difficult.

Each member of the wedding party dressed as one of the Doctors. Even her father and the Rev. Jac got in on the fun. Rev. Jac wore a custom made bow tie with Tardis on it, thanks to Rebellion Bow Ties. April made Jac a celery boutonniere. Their dog, Sophie, wore blue in honor of the day.

All of the flowers were purchased at the local farmer’s market and made into bouquets by the woman who grew them. The Tardis, which was used as a backdrop for the ceremony, was purchased on line. They had plans for it after the wedding as a wall hanging inside. Of course the primary color of the day was Tardis blue. The wedding cake was themed, made by a Elree's Sweet Shoppe.

Their ceremony included many references to Dr. Who. The couple did a hand-fasting based on the River Song hand-fasting, using a blue bow tie for it. The couple wrote their vows which were read during the hand fasting. Their choice of words carried the theme throughout the entire ceremony and their wedding day.

Chelsea Havannah Photography did an outstanding job of getting all the important moments of the day! She worked quietly in the background during the ceremony and got great shots of that and took all of these beautiful photos of the details and the couple.
