Many Triad couples were able to get married Friday night thanks to the generosity of The Guilford Co. Register of Deeds, Jeff Thigpen and his staff for reopening and staying late. Also thanks to area clergy who were on hand to perform marriages. Recognizing that not all couples who want to get married under the new law could make it to the Register of Deeds on Friday night and to celebrate Marriage Equality in NC, Rev. H. Jackson (Jac) Grimes and Rev. Elizabeth (Liz) Grimes with All Faiths Wedding Officiants of the Triad will perform free legal weddings on Monday October 13, 2014. They will be outside the Guilford County Register of Deeds, 201 West Market Street, Greensboro, NC from 8:00am til 5:00pm or until all couples are served. Each couple will have their choice of a secular, spiritual or religious ceremony and will also receive a decorative marriage certificate suitable for framing. To celebrate love in NC, these services will be provided at no cost to any couple, gay or straight, who presents a valid marriage license and provides two (2) witnesses age 18 or older. All Faiths Wedding Officiants of the Triad is a full service wedding officiant company. They provide wedding ceremonies to couples without regard to religious background, sexual orientation, previous marriages or other life circumatances.
