Where shall we wed?

Many simple weddings take place in the home of the couple or a family member or friend.  The pool side of your apartment complex might be a nice place for a summer wedding followed by a pool party for family and friends.  Of course you can also get married in your backyard followed by a cook out to celebrate.

Many of the traditional venues have discounted prices for weekdays or for short notice (if they are not already booked). All Faiths Wedding Officiants of the Triad recommends checking with them, if you have always dreamed of a wedding there but have been afraid of the cost.  You can get married in a location that is special to you—where you met, your first date, where you became engaged, your favorite picnic spot, etc.  If it is a public location you might need a permit if you are going to be setting up chairs or have very many people present.  A gathering of 5-10 people and a short meaningful ceremony usually can be done in a public park without any real problems (as long as you are not using a shelter reserved by someone else).  If it is on private property such as a restaurant or other business, you can talk with the owners to see if you can work out a time to get married there.

“Rev. Jac did a spectacular job for our wedding. Even though we did not have a big wedding, Rev. Jac still took time to make us feel like we were having a big wedding. Even taking time out of his schedule to read the 10 page story of how we met until our big day. He made the ceremony beautiful and was still in a good mood, even after the hike twice around the The Bogg Gardens to find the location. We would recommend him to anyone who is needing an officiant.”
