Today!

What you need to know...
Who may legally get married in North Carolina?
Any persons over the age of 18, who are not closer than first cousins may get married. ALL applications under 18 should contact their local Register of Deeds office for additional information. Previously married individuals must know the month and year their last marriage ended. If you are divorced or marriage is annulled on the same day you apply for a marriage license, you must produce a certified copy of the divorce or annulment decree.
What is a legal marriage ceremony?
You must present a valid marriage license to an officiant, tell an authorized officiant you want to get married in front of two witnesses and have the officiant say you are married. It really is that simple!
Who may perform the marriage?
In North Carolina the officiant at a wedding must be authorized to perform weddings in one of the following ways:
-
An Ordained Minister
-
A Minister Authorized by his church
-
A District Court Magistrate
-
By the Society of Friends, according to customs of the Society
-
By a local Spiritual Assembly of the Bahais in accordance to the usage of their religious community.
-
By any person authorized by any religious denomination or of any recognized Indian Nation or Tribe.
When can I book a ceremony
We will book simple short notice ceremonies up to 90 days out between November and March. From April to November we only book these ceremonies 30 days out.

Rev. Jac did an AWESOME job writing our ceremony to fit our special day. We were having a Doctor Who themed wedding and he did wonderful research to make the vows absolutely perfect for us. Due to unexpected circumstances, the actual wedding ceremony did not take place. We ended up getting married 6 weeks prior to the planned date. Rev. Jac was very accommodating and performed a very small, impromptu ceremony at the last minute. When we have our vow renewal ceremony Rev. Jac will have the honor.”
